Well its Saturday and I have completed my first week back at Uni.
I can't say I am feeling very motivated as I got my essay results back yesterday and failed by one mark :-(
Its funny how a fail can totally crush you and destroy your confidence in yourself. I even questioned my ability to continue the course but luckily I have snapped out of that one.
Does anyone know if I re-sumbit at PGDE level, do I also have to re-submit my Ed studies essay at PGDE level?
Im so with you there--getting any sort of harsh criticism from this course seems to cut deeper than in Uni. Thank goodness for the redo button!
ReplyDeleteI don't think you have to resubmit your ed studies at PGDE level. People are allowed to do one at PGDE and one at Masters if they choose to, or both at PGDE, etc. Re-submit and then wash your hands of it :)
Maybe you should have some faith in yourself, so you failed by one mark, take a look, speak to the tutor that marked it, maybe read over the criterion again and see where you can get a few more marks in with reworking. Loads of people failed so don't take it as a personal setback, dig your heels in and improve it. It's our first assignment, imagine if one of your pupils almost got the grade what would you tell them, how would you motivate them. I don't think an essay does define a good teacher at all but perhaps this one might if you let it get you down?
ReplyDeleteI think it is too late for this advice but I would endorse what Miss Willis said - take advice from your tutor.
